The Coffees

  • Yeast Inoculated Washed Laurina

  • Washed Gesha Finca 1890

  • Washed Gesha Condor Ridge Ranch

  • Natural Gesha Condor Ridge Ranch

The Verdict

It’s hard to believe just how good these coffees were. I had let them rest for 8 weeks before the tasting so they were juicy, sweet and at the perfect balance in the cup. We brewed them with the Kalita Wave to show off the clarity in the body of these 4 coffees. We started with the Condor Ridge Washed Gesha: clean jasmine florals, undeniably tea like, soft strawberry finish as it cooled. Second we tasted the Finca 1890 Washed Gesha that was swirling with a buttery raspberry tart. We switched gears to the Yeast Inoculated Laurina that had an impressive hibiscus tea leaves, grenadine, and apple acidity. We finished with the Natural Gesha that was the perfect balance of a fruit-forward natural and the clarity in the body of a gesha.

On Hydrangea Coffee Roasters

Hydrangea has always been impressive to me. I remember when Bill sent me samples of their lineup, I was completely spoiled by each one. Since then we have continually brought in some of my favorite coffees from Hydrangea. It’s an honor to work with so many amazing roasters, if you ever get a chance: grab a bag of Hydrangea.
